LARA CLAYDON
Aloha Friends & Family, my name is Lara Claydon, aka “Lala”, as some people call me!
I’m a professional ocean athlete from Maui, Hawai’i. Since I was thirteen, I’ve competed at a professional level in stand-up paddling and now in longboarding.
In August 2020, I pursued a different dream and continued my studies at Bond University in Australia for my bachelor’s degree. Throughout my two years of study, I continued competing as part of Bond’s Elite Athlete program, allowing my studies to cater to my professional athlete schedule. Two years later, in August 2022, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communication and a minor in public relations with a speciality in sport.
Since graduating, I have had the privilege not only of having a career as a professional athlete but also of working in the surf industry. This has allowed me to continue competing, traveling around the world, and sharing my love for the ocean, surfing, and competing with the next generation of young female surfers.
I am grateful to have the opportunities to do what I love, sharing my passion & love for the ocean, adventure, traveling, and surfing with those around me.
