What Is Cosmic Series?

Cosmic Series is a traveling surf contest built around one idea: community over competition. It shows up to a local break, hands out vintage boards, and lets everyone else do the rest.

The boards are the whole point. Every heat runs on '70s single fins and '80s twin fins, most of them older than the women riding them. Nobody's on their own equipment, nobody's got an edge. Just you, a board with some history in it, and whatever the ocean gives you that day.

Judging leans loose by design, part style, part your ride, part how much stoke you're putting into the water. There's no priority during heats, and party waves aren't just allowed, they're kind of the whole point. If a good one rolls through, share it.

Cosmic Series kicked off on the East Coast this year with stops through New Jersey and Virginia, from Manasquan Inlet to Atlantic Park's wave pool in Virginia Beach. Every stop looked a little different. The feeling stayed the same.
